Asia to Europe

Hi all, I am new to this forum but I need A LOT of help/advice.
I currently live in Hong Kong and am planning to take my bmer to France overland. I am planning to do: HK-China-Mongolia-Russia-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmekistan-Iran-Turkey-Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria-Switzerland-France (a friend's wedding). I have several questions:
1. how is the current situation in travelling on a bike in China?
2. what will the weather be like in Mongolia in march?
3. To travel from Almaty to Shymkent in Kazakhstan, the main road seem to go through Bishkek. Do you need a multi-entry visa for Kazakhstan?
4. How easy is it to travel in Turkmekistan? I heard one needs a visa and a travel permit, is that correct?
5. Is it better (easier in terms of paperwork) to go from Turkmekistan to Azerbaijan (by boat) or to go to Iran?
6. How do you get a basic motorbike insurance coverage in Europe?
7. How do I get a carnet in Hong Kong?!
8. I am planning to buy a GPS and would like to hear what you think about the standard tomtom rider/garmin zumo vs the garmin 278?

Thanks for your help. Any insight is appreciated.
