hiya musq,
I'm thinking of the same trip myself in Sept 08. Leaving from Ireland and going to India. Because i'm tightish on time i'll ship the bike back then.
Would the weather in Turkey and Iran be very hot in June? Thats why i'm thinking August/Sept departure

Glad you liked it. Your time frame will be cooler. If you get higher in the mountains (India, Nepal), it will be COLD, just don't forget that.

Hi musq, out of curiousity what sort of bike are you on?
I;m thinking of doing it on a VFR800, i'm quite confident of it mechanically but am a little unsure of the state of the roads.
kberetta, i saw the section in your website with the road construction, was the that worst?
Sorry if this isn't the angle of the thread
eamo.

Bike and time frame

I am on a BMW R650 Dakar. My friend is on a KTM 640 Adventure. This is the reason I wanted to leave early to allow us going into the mountains of Pakistan and Nepal.
