Alp route

So i have decided to ride down to the alps 1. july ( may change ) and do some passes.

I am ending up in Wien after the alp tour to visit some relatives before returning back home.

Can you advise me in some nice routes ? I know I cant experience everything in one trip but trying to get the best out of it.

This is my rough route that certainly is not final and I assume will need some adjustments.

Can you take a look at the route and tell me what you would do different ?

Are all of these routes open in july ? what other things should I think of ?

Here is a one day route for you:

And you will not be far from Kehlsteinhaus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia after passing grossglockner

Are all of these routes open in july ??? Yes. You can find more info here: ALPENPSSE.CO | Straenbericht Alpenpsse und Bergstraen | Wintersperre

sticking more or less to your proposed route I would make the following changes:

From Merano go take the road to Vipiteno/Sterzing via San Leonardo, which crosses the Jaufen Pass. Then go south and take the Penser Joch Pass to Sarentino and Bolzano, where you carry on along your planned route.

From Leipzig don't go staight to Magdeburg, but instead go via the Harz mountains. Great sights there are Quedlinburg, Goslar and of course the highest point, the "Brocken". From there instead of returning to Hannover, travelling along the small roads along the Elbe river is more rewarding.

My 2 cents worth :smile2:

I think I have to rule out France this round.
I am trying to start as far east and north as possible to not make this trip too long. I am ending up in Wien in the end before heading home. I think I have to try to stick with Swiss and Austrian and north of Italy

Is there a source like that for dirt tracks in that area?
