I've just read your post Re: trip through Africa and noticed that I missed your meeting by about a week...damn!

Anyway, I work at The Royal Star and Garter Home on Richmond Hill by the gate into the park, and am planning a similar trip of my own on behalf of the charity.

At the moment the trip is at the planning stage with a possible departure in about a year. The charity cares for disabled Ex-service Men and Women and I would be undertaking the trip to raise money for the Home. As we are a military charity, the idea would be to visit as many sites enroute, across Africa where the Victoria Cross has been won in the past. The locations of these are generally along the coastlines of countries such as Libya, Tunisia, Ghana, Eritrea, South Africa etc.

I intend to visit as many of these sites as is possible and hope to have sponsorship donated for each site visited.

If you are in the vicinity in the near future and feel like having a quick chat about your and my plans, email me at: link above

I look forward to hearing from you soon,

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
