Accomodation near Salamanca?
 

I`m travelling down through Spain from Santander - first stop likely to be around Salamanca. Does anyone know of a cheapish hotel, B+B any where near that area? Thanks!

I've stayed at the Hotel Regio in Santa Marta De Tormes a couple of times. It's about five minutes south of the centre of Salamanca, a city well worth visiting, on the N 501 Avila to Madrid road. The web site is Hotel Regio. Hotel en Salamanca

Afterwards as you are heading south try and use the N502 across from Avila towards Talavera...you cross the Gredos Sierra which is one of the best kept secrets in Spain, well it was till now, it is an absolute ASTOUNDING cracker of a road for motorbikers..have a chuleton de avila steak at the restaurant casa emilio la venta 6kms before you come to the puerto del pico mountain 1300 metres descent..it is the only place for about 25 miles around up there..wish I were with you........let us know.
