4 weeks - where should I go?

I know this seems a bit lame, but I am in UK and have 4 weeks for a trip, beginning... tomorrow!

Last year I went to Turkey and back - 6,000 miles - and I'm up for something similarly substantial again.

Is it foolhardy to explore Morocco at this time of year, for example? (I'd really like to ride the desert highway, MS10, but is that a ridiculous idea in the summer heat, even if I take sensible precautions.) And my bike (new in Jan) is due for for its first service in 2,000 miles, so I'll need to factor a service into any trip that's over about 3,000 miles I guess.

Alternatively, Scandinavia, Baltic states, or down to Greece via Serbia, Montenegro, Albania etc. There's too much to choose from and I don't feel any inspiration yet...

All ideas/inspiration much appreciated!

Norway/Sweden?

Hi there,

Last year I did a 4 week trip from Newcastle upon Tyne to Nordkapp in Norway and back. Granted I was doing near 300miles a day everyday (which you may not want to if you going for a holiday) but if you get yourself upto Scandinavia some of the roads are amazing. The best places I found were in Western Norway (get yourself to Olso and everything North of there is awesome). Word of warning though. You'll need to do 5 or 6 big motorway days to get up there

My other suggestion if you haven't been before is the Verdon canyon (the Grand Canyon of Europe) in South Eastern France. Put 'Castellane' into google and now matter what route you take to get there the roads are something else.

Hope this gives you a few ideas :)

HI. Thanks so much for the reply. That's really helpful thanks and Nordkapp sounds ideal. A bit of research shows that some have done it in as little as 2 weeks (with the help of some ferries) so I think I'll work on this plan - and if not now, then definitely in the future. Would you advise winter riding gear, as opposed to summer gear with water-proof over suit?
