3 weeks left - advice on patagonia
 

Hi there, I´m in Mendoza at the moment but only have three weeks left of my trip. My original aim was to get to Ushuaia but Argentinian hospitality and good wine has got the better of me. I have to fly out of Buenos Aires around 15 December and also allow time to sort out shipping the bike.

Any advice on a route that would take me at least into the northern part of Patagonia - up to Penninsular Valdes and then BA?
I'm on a 225 Serow so can't really do much more than 350 k per day.

Just go South
 

Howdy Christy-----You can just go south on 40 and 143 all the way to Bariloche. Those are great paved roads and good scenery and people then you can head east to BA whenever you need to.

I'll be in the area, but not until January. Have fun, we are all her sitting on the go switch waiting on the calendar.

Valdes is a must, as is a whale watching trip from Pto Pyramides. If you have time call in on Oscar Knecht who runs the Viedma community. There's a lovely campsite there on the banks of the river, well worth a day or two. Utterly unmissable is "La Posta del Viajero en Moto" at Mendoza 685 in Azul. It's on your way to Bs As on Ruta Tres. Jorge (who runs it), his family and friends are fantastic hosts; a party is practically guaranteed. Last, but not least, get in touch with Sandra and Javier Kaper of the Bs As community. They also have a place for moto travellers to stay, are lovely people and can give you loads of help of all kinds.
