Knivskjellodden is more than Nordkapp. Although it depends on what you want.
I was spoilt when I went. Good weather and visibility on the summer solstice, magnificent midnight sun hanging above the Arctic Ocean, teeming bird life, and plenty of time to do it and stay a couple of hours on the headland contemplating the meaning of life(!) at around 00:30 to 3:00 am.

I thought it was stupendous. But then again, apart from the superb weather, it was my birthday!

Weather is an issue in deciding whether to go, as loss of sufficient visibilty to see the stone cairns marking the way could lead to difficulties.

Have a good trip. Pity about the tyre and bearing problem but hope all continues well.

Thanks for the comments. We have run out of time in our journey north and have headed into Sweden now. Lofoten Islands were amazing. Nordkapp will just have to wait for another time.

Am now in Stockholm. Many people say Norway is great and Sweden in flat and boring. Disagree ( to an extent). Details of what we have been up to are on my blog.

Sweden: lakes and trees, trees and lakes. Loads of green cars (invisible against the trees). More trees and lakes. Drove 80 miles to see something that in the UK I wouldn't give a second glance to. More lakes and trees. No wonder they all commit suicide. :)
