Riding South for Fiestas. UK to Spain

Hopefully below I've have embedded a video of me (Dad) with my 13 year old son, riding from the UK to the Basque rejoin of Spain, on our 35 year old bike.

The video is filmed from the prospective of my son with him doing lots of filming and all the spoken "work to camera"!

I also have a magazine article about the trip which can be read at :-

Nice video.

Whether son or daughter, there's something special about going on a foreign journey with your child on the back. Specially when you run into super-hospitality situations as you did. It always seems to happen.

But you may find quite soon, that if you want to go somewhere on your own, you'll never be able to.
"Can I come Can I come too?? Pleeze! CAN I come.....?" On and on and on.
Well, if it happens to you, just put up with it, you could be having some great adventures with him in 20 year's time.

Yes my son is now 15 years old and 6 foot tall far to big to ride on the back of a 36 year old bike with full camping kit.
Still in 2 years time in the UK he can ride his own bike on the road

I’ve edited the original 24 minute video down to 8 minutes, adding some footage of my son and I on Dutch TV and footage of the Spanish Fiesta with the local lads pretending to be bull fighters in the bull ring.

Here is the new 8 minute video:-

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
