Honda CT110 trip of the Americas with a surfboard.
Hi everyone.
My name is matt and this is my first ever motorcycle journey. I have no idea about mechanics, or even the route, or my destination.
I brought my magnificent Honda Ct 110 about 1 month ago from a older gentlemen on the sunshine coast of B.C in Canada, for the sum of $1300. Since then I have decked it out with some state of the art panniers, (milk crates) and ridden around Vancouver island. Tomorrow I am taking the ferry over to Port Angeles W.A.
From there I will head down the famous HWY 1.
My budget is tight so most nights I will be sleeping out where ever I can.

Keep you the good work man! You'll make it to the nice warm water soon enough. But it won't matter either way as you're carrying a wetsuit. ONWARD!

Dang! That mud looked slicker than snot! I hope that path led to a sweet break beside some hot springs.
It's gonna be a blast (in between the brief moments of furious frustration) especially once you get down to MX and beyond.

I have since made it down to Santa Cruz. The fuel bill so far has only been $47.00 or there a bouts.

While is Santa cruz, a friend and I whipped up some new racks from scrap metal. Total cost $11.00

I was following the blog of a couple who rode their CT110 "Postie" from Australia to the UK about 2 years ago and the both of them had half the gear you have! That's impressive.

Did you know that a XR250 Honda fuel tank will fit nicely into the "Step-Thru" gap and can be easily plumbed into the main fuel line. That'll give you huge range.

Great to see someone out on a little 'un having fun.

First of all to HU, I am sure as the trip progresses you may get to ditch some of that gear you have taken! glad to see you moved the bottle from the rear of your front mudguard(fender), under heavy braking things could easily have become 'interesting'! enjoy, and I look forward to reading more.

Back in Canada
Well I have been extremely lazy in my ride report.
Since my first update the mighty CT110 has taken me from Vancouver island, B.C, Canada, all the way down to the U.S Mexico boarder. Then back up to B.C A total of a little over 7000miles was traveled in around 3 months.
This ride has hooked me on motorcycle travel.
I have since brought a Yamaha Xt 225 and will once agin head south in a couple of weeks.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love.
