Hi All

I'm putting together the new travel section for Motorcycle Sport & Leisure - some of you may know me from editing the magazine back in its Cornwall days. It kicked off last month with Andy Lander Stow's trip to Mongolia by Ural sidecar outfit and every month we'll have three features: a day ride in the UK; 1-2 weeks in Europe; and proper overland epics.

It won't make you rich - all we can offer is a free 12-month sub for the day ride feature and £50 for the Europe or overland features - but you will achieve everlasting fame.

Day ride features should be c1000 words, European features c1400 and overlands 2000 words max. Pics should be hi-res digital (at least 1Mb each, though we can sometimes cope with smaller), around 10 for for day ride, 20 for Europe and 30 for overland. If you want to plug a book or website as part of the feature, that's fine. All bikes, all types of trip welcome.

I was wondering about your request. If I did something for your magazine on my next trip, and you either paid with cash or kind. Who then owns the piece of work? Is it the author or the magazine?
