Balkantour 2011 - the video

We are back - riding through Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro. We had everything: brandnew highways, paved roads, gravel roads and single dirt-tracks that gave us awesome experiences: what a great playground for us bikers!

This was our way: we started from the North of Germany to Venice, took the ferry to Greece and entered Albania right in the south. We stayed overnight in Gjirokaster - an old town being world cultural heritage. The next day we had big fun in the mountains cleaning the bikes in a ford at the end of the dirt road...
We passed Lake Ohrid (Macedonia) and got back to AL - to the road from Peshkopi along the river Drin.
Kosovo was not dangerous to us at all but we rode back to AL the same day. The ferry on Lake Komani was the next adventure. We left Albania on an unpaved mountain road through the Vermosh Valley to Montenegro. The next day we saw Cruise liners in the bay of Kotor and later again in the harbour of Dubrovnik - this kind of tourism is almost everywhere here along tho coast, but minefields in the backcountry of Croatia still exist - what a sad look in the beautiful mountains...

In case you have 13 minutes of time you are kindly invited to watch my video - I hope you`ll like it:

btw: the subtitle "Gegensätze intensiv erfahren" means "coming to know/riding intensive contrasts" ("erfahren" has two meanings in german...)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
