Europe - Through the Alps

Last year I have travelled from The Netherlands to the Mediterranean, Lago di Garda and back through the Alps. Covering parts of The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein and Austria. Here I want to share some of the pictures I took.

Packed for the second day on camping Kaul in Wiltz, Luxemburg. Coming from the north of The Netherlands and traveling small roads it takes about a day to get to Luxemburg. It's a nice place for the Dutch because it's not too far and the scenery is very different from our own country.

It was my first big trip on a motorcycle. I'm more of scooterist and bought the BMW F650 just 3 days before departure. Not used to shifting gears a had a painful arm from the clutch. Not wanting to spend to much on racks and cases I just bought a few roll bags and it worked OK for me. Next time I will try saddle bags too for extra room.

Mouthier-Haute-Pierre in France. After a little bit boring route through the north of France I suddenly came through these 'Gorges'. Very beautiful.

Lac Leman or Lake Geneva, north side looking south to the Alps. I travelled around the east side of the lake from Lausanne through Montreux etc. It was very busy and very hot, standing still most of the time feeling the heat coming up from the engine, not very nice.

On the way from the Col de la Bonette to Menton it started to get misty in the mountains. I even had to stop for a while when the sight was almost zero.

Lago di Garda or Lake Garda in Italy, a very nice place to be. You have the mostly beautiful weather from the south of the Alps and very nice mountain roads nearby. I was in Toscolane-Maderno.
