Baja California

Hi to all. I meant to be sensible, retire from riding rediculous distances on small bikes, stay home and buy a ride-on lawn mower. Joe Berk of The California Scooter Company messed with my good intentions. "Hey," he wrote, "come ride one of our pre-production bikes south to Cabo San Vicente and back - 2000 miles." Our aim is to find any weaknesses in the bikes. We reached the end of the Peninsular yesterday and are on our way back now to California. The trip and pics are on my blog at www.simongandolfi.com
Cheers...

And a minor electrical falt on both pre-production bikes. I rode a pre-production south and one of the first production bikes back north. The bike purred and the sprung seat is a pleasure even after riding ten hours.
I am not a team player. I am accustomed to riding alone. This was a steep learning curve. Hopefully my companions dont hate me. Though no doubt I am irritating and grumpy! Such is the way of old men...
Finally, you ever get the oportunity, Baja California is magnificent. Views out over the Sea of Cortez are as fine as the very best. The desert changes, fell to boulder, plateua to twisting mountain roads. For a biker, fabulous.Try it..

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
