11 country's in 25 days, to the nordkapp and back!

In despirate need of a new shot of travels to survive until the next summer i made plans to drive my bike up to the nordkapp and back home in 25 days couchsurfing allong the way, sleeping where people could offer me a couch, a meal and some good times!

I ended up doing it in 23 days, the last day i left stavanger for kristiansand in expectation of a 64euro ferry ticket to get into Denmark. It didnt go as expected I missed the ferry by 2 hours and had a very short timeframe to secure my seat on the next one in Oslo! I missed it again, by 15 minutes.

I got a bit pissed about myself and why i didnt check the timetables for the ferry's, I had 2 options, getting a hotel and bore myself to death or accept the challenge to ride around the baltic sea true Sweden towards copenhagen and then over the bridge into denmark.

And so it went, i drove 160 to 120km at a time, stopping only for fuel and coffee! 30 hours later, 165liters of petrol poorer i arrived at my home the next day during the afternoon.

I left stavanger at 1pm and arrived back home at 5.45pm the next day in belgium, covering more than 2500 (2700 on the odo) true 6 country's.
That instance allong with Losing my driverslicense in Lapland becouse of speeding and the very very friendly officers who gave me a 2 days notice to leave the country are some of the most memorable memory's of my trip!

This was probably one of my most epic trips that i made with great weather, even better food and some of the most interesting people i have ever met! Couchsurfing is my way of traveling, i dont think i will ever stop doing it!

Some pictures of my 9900 km trip.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
