Goa - India.

I had some good work done on my KTM Adventure while in Goa by a good mechanic who took his time and even used a torque wrench. Yes, India and torque wrenches can go togeather, in fact he even made sure the setting of it was correct from the manual! He has an XT600 himself but has experience of most Jap bikes, BMW's and even had worked on a KTM before. He showed me his letters and photos from previous overlanders over the last few years.

I also needed a new teflon chain guide which he managed to get made up for me which was no mean feet in itself.

He also has a place at Vagator.

Small basic garage but the guy knows his way around a modern bike, even a KTM, and is very careful about what he does. PS. I waited 1 month and 3000 kilometers before posting this to make sure nothing he did went wrong with his work.

Smile India, Goa - Visited the same mechanic 7 years later - recommended

Hi Guys,

For who ever needs a good mechanic in Goa who knows how to work on Western bikes - I guess that's the guy...

I am toward the end of my trip on a Yamaha Tenere 2009 (a lot of electronics...) and needed to adjust the valves.
I contacted Maesh following this recommendation. Maesh proved to know the job and not only adjusted the valves perfectly, he also did a full service, front tire change & wheel alignment and fitted some accessories I just received (laziness laziness... )

He charged me 9000 Indian Rupees which are today 200 US$.

Thanks Billy

P.S I see now that the subject is not right and thats we are now 8 years later(!!)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
