Motoservi (Sucre, Bolivia)

These guys are awesome! For 660 bolivianos (less than $100us) they welded me some baskets for my saddlebags. I also had 2 new pirelli's put on, a new rack, a full service including valve inspection, oil change etc and in the end it cost me 2000 bolivianos for everything together, slightly under $300us.

They are just above to move to a really huge shop too (they took me and showed me, it's 3 stories and the owner is emailing me some photos) but I didn't get the address... I think just about any moto rider in town will point you in the right direction as they all have Motoservi stickers on their bikes.

The owner also said he created Motoservi about 25 years ago when two female travelers came in on a Honda 250cc, since then he has tried to be extremely helpful to travelers. He said in his new shop travelers are allowed to work on their bikes in the free space, free of charge.

I am really happy with their work, here are some photos!

Be warned the kids will want their photo taken...

great moto shop in sucre

this is a great repair shop, the owner Jaime Medina speaks english and is very helpful to all your moto needs...he offers bike travellers a space to work on their bikes for free and use of his tools. he also offers servicing, welding, fabrication and engine rebuilds ect. amazing range of fabrication machines, good shop front too with tyres and some accessories ect.

i highly recomend them. i got rear suspension spacer fabricated for my bike on their lathe and some cracks on my pannier frames welded and reinforced...really good craftmanship.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
