Calgary, Alberta, Canada, welcoming world travellers...

My name is Jay and I run a little motorcycle shop here in Calgary, in the Canadian summers, and travel by motorcycle in winter. It's mainly an under the table shop, and world travellers are especially welcome to call for repairs, advice, chew the fat, or just a coffee. So if your on your way from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego or otherwise, give me a call on my pager number @ 403 205 0323. Email address in link above. Happy trails.....

Not Jay (sorry).. but thanks to Dave in Calgary!

I'm sorry I didn't meet the OP of this thread (Jay), but if he is anything like Dave Anderson in Calgary.. what a GREAT place to travel through!!

My wife & I passed through Calgary in 2005 on our way from Maryland to visit our daughter in Fairbanks, and had problems with her 78 R100 both on the way up, as well as coming back. (Odd, ran well otherwise!).

Dave has a shop called Anderwerks (It's on the web too- not sure if it's ok to post that here), and was an amazing friend and mechanic for us going far out of his way to help us and make us feel at home. I can't praise him enough or recommend him more highly. Fantastic BMW knowledge & skills, and even found us alternator parts for the old girl (bike, not the wife ).

There is a photo or two of his shop on our trip log at: JimDavis.name- 05 trip log
He was remodeling when we passed back through so I'm sure the shop looks amazing by now!

Thanks Dave, & biker-friendly Calgary.
