Enfield mechanic and parts in SW France?

Hi, I'm en route to Alicante and need someone to look over the old enfield There's some funny noises coming from somewhere, loss of compression too and the electrics are playing up! All part of the adventure I suppose.
So if anyone knows of an Enfield dealer/garage/enthusiast nr Bordeaux etc i'd be very grateful.
Still smiling! Paul :scooter:

I have just pulled these two addresses from the net. Be aware that the competance of french mechanics vary wildly.
I have been lucky in finding two excellent BMW ones, one in Parthenay, and the other (general makes) near Die.

Yes, they have the wierdest ideas about closing..
Our local swimming pool franchise close for July and August... but are open all over the christmas and new year.
In Morlaix a hliday area town, quite a few hotels shut for the holidays ( july and august) as do the resturants.
The One I found most difficult, and could not trust my french for, was the sign saying that a local resturant closes each day for lunch ???

Hey there oldbmw.
Please please forgive this ultra late reply, although it does come laden with a heap of gratitude. I can't seem pm you, so a public forum will have to do.
You advice and suggestion was invaluable to me. I paid M. Bourasseau a visit in Cerizay and what a nice chap he is too. He sorted the Bullet out with a new alternator, poured me beer while I waited and let me have a quick go on his diesel 500 too. Fantastic. Not sure about the yellow paint job though!
Anyway made it to Alicante and back again thanks to you. Cheers L.

Yes I and my wife have also been treated to the free beers, even though we have bought nothing from him. He is a true RE enthusiast.
Am pleased all has worked out for you. I might even have him do some work for me, although he does not have the special tool to dismantle front forks. (ride a bit too harsh), I like 'em loose and fast.
