GPS coordinates for BMW dealers.
Amazingly, for bikes as well travelled as BMWs are, BMW AG hasn't even bothered including GPS coordinates for their dealers on their web site.
There are two such GPS coordinates lists available for US and Canadian BMW dealers, but such lists would be more useful for the rest of the world than there. If anyone has coordinates for any BMW dealer, maybe we can put such a list together. E-mail me the dealers name, full address, phone number(s) and the GPS coordinates. At the moment, I am particularly interested in BMW dealers in Europe. ------------------ Alex Alex's BMW Motorcycle & Global Touring Page http://www.ott.igs.net/~ace

I have a GPX file with BMW Dealers in the UK, with coordinates, and the dealers name, but without some of the other details like the phone number, etc. I've been using this as the data source for some work I've been doing for HU, to display geo data on a google map. I can forward you this data if u're interested.

Bob the Smellybiker has a forum just for this purpose, but so far there seem to be only addresses, no coordinates. Smellybiker's Wanderlust Worldmap • View forum - BMW Dealers
Here is one in Germany who I know and recommend: Ludwig Wirz Lindenstr. 5 55595 Hargesheim 49° 51.457'N 7° 49.571'E Note that to get there you must leave the dual carriageway early or you will end up exploring the lovely countryside around my former home town.

How's it going? Wirz is actually listed in Garmin's City Navigator 9 but it's 300m up the road... N49 51.636 E7 49.550 Thanks for the tip. A recommended garage is always best. I hope to be passing nearby there this summer and visiting Lars. Stephan |

I did the following map as a demo. It's fed from a GPX file that I loaded into a MySQL database. Currently, all that I've loaded in there are the UK BMW dealers..

Any issues with this link, let me know.. Colm Last edited by phoenix; 7 Jul 2008 at 10:23. Reason: clarification on userid+password quotes |
