I would suggest you leave your software at home. You wont need it.

Then, RTFM and learn about your camera.

Take as many memory cards as you can afford. Uploading ALL your photos may prove impossible, given the slow speed of a lot of cyber cafes.
If you chose smaller cards (1gig or 512 meg), you loose less when one goes tit-up or gets "lost".

in the newspaper i work for we use the fotostation pro software for editing photos, its unbelievably quick and logical for any imaging processing you want to do that stops just short of photoshop manipulation. You can download a 30 day trial version and put it on one of your memory cards. Every time you walk into an internet place and plug in your card you can install the software in seconds. Every new computer you do this with gets the 30 days. So in fact you have the software indefinitly. Its what I use on the road too - saves carrying cd/scratching cd/losing cd (which I all managed to do proir to this!)

Get a rechargable battery and charger if available for your camera and fit your bike with a 12v power socket - charge on the road (tuck it in tank bag). Saves messing with sockets in hotels, cafes, campsites.
