So far as I can tell, "Robson Jaborá/SC" has done something wrong - there's no code to link to an image in his posts, and he hasn't uploaded any attachments, so something's missing! Like one or the other of the above.

For info on posting pictures, see the FAQ link above.

Hi, do you know if it is possible to safely follow the coast from Uruguay to Rio, to Salvador then head inland from there to Manaus? Are rural areas often unsafe?

Also do you book in advance for backpacker hostels?

Cheers

Very Good Adam,

Where are you planning to come?

I believe you'll leave Buenos Aires do Montevidéu by ferryboat, then, you can ride all the Uruguay cost and enter in Brazil from Chuí, ride near the Lagoa dos Patos, arrive in Porto Alegre, get the BR-101 road to Rio, north Brazil.

You'll have to get a boat to Manaus, if you go there of course, there aren't roads to go, and if it exist, will be terrible.

Well, keep in touch, we can help you in Brazil if you want.

Regards friend,

Regards friend,

Thanks Robson, I am expecting to arrive in Brazil about February 09, my bike is most likely going to be an XL 200. Google maps shows a major road to Manaus but as you say it could be terrible, however I think a boat would be a nice change anyway.

I would also like to visit the caves in Bonito, seen here: Dark Roasted Blend: Caves: The World Beneath the World

Great pics btw, and thanks for your route info.

Adam,

Bonito is wonderfull, but it's an expensive city too .

I believe, if you want to pass in Bonito, you have to go north Brazil near the cost then go down passing in the middle, to know Brasilia.

Then go down to Bonito.

After it, where's your destination? We can make some route to you see al the good things you can know.

Well, keep in touch.

You have more information about me in the signature.

Cheers,

Dia 22/11/2008, me and my girlfriend go to a little trip near Jaborá.

We leave early morning, on way from Presidente Castelo Branco city, then from Ipira, Ouro, Capinzal, Peritiba, Piratuba, Marcelino Ramos, Concórdia e Jaborá.

Passing a river by boat, we know the Seminário de Nossa Senhora de Salete, road to many km near the Uruguai River.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
