Paris To Annecy in 7 days

Just picked up the Lonely Planet for cycling in France and it is very useful but I was wondering if there was anyone on the HUBB who had any info on interesting towns or great views or downhills on the way.

Our route is still quite loose and we are not opposed to hopping on a train at any point in order to get away from crowded highways and out into some countryside. One idea is to train from Paris to Reims and start the trip that way to avoid cycling through Parisian suburbs. Nozeroy is supposed to be really cool. Ever been to Der-Chantecoq lake?

Tips? Anecdotes? Places to avoid? Places to drink wine and eat cheese?
