xt600e poorly!
hi all.Its that time to get the old girl out and have some fun.
She passed the MOT with flyin colours, but! When i picked her her up to take her home she started fine but then when on the move she began to cough and splutter and eventually cut out.when i pulled over she fired up again and would rev relatively freely with the choke out but soon as i got goin again would do the same again. eventually managed to home with the choke out and up to third gear and no faster than 30mph. Assumed it was crap in the fuel or carb somewhere. Took off tank-ran clean. checked filters-fuel and air. took off carb- looked clean-sprayed all with carb cleaner now will only turnover. please could somebody give me some help or advice-also with regards to taking the carb off easier than i did. thanks all. |

Sorry to resurrect an old thread and it's a bit of a long shot, but my son's XT600e has exactly the same problem. What was the resolution to this. My assumption like your was crap in jets or a hole in the diaphragm. Have checked the diaphragm - looks ok. We haven't worked out how to remove carbs yet to get at jets and floats.
Any advice appreciated. |
