The Highland Outback

Anyone ever heard of these bikes before? I have an opportunity to purchase one for 5500 pounds and could be persuaded looking at the specification list, but I am obviously concerned about reliability etc.

Check out the website, its definately worth a look.

just search google for highland bikes...

I believe there was a test of a Highland a few years back in TBM.

IMHO, the Outback falls into the BMW HP2/950 Super Enduro category.

All IMHO: this class of machine is a step closer to achieving the ideal adventure motorcycle. The problem seems to be that off tarmac capability is inversely proportional to long distance tarmac cruising capability (especially comfort). This class of machine has a nice twin cylinder motor (for the long distances on tarmac) coupled with a relative lack of weight (making them relatively easy to handle when the sealed road ends).

Should you buy it? Only you can answer that question.

Hi Dave

could you tell a little more about the bike for sale, how old and how many miles? Is it on sale at the Bolton shop? Seems like a lot of bike for the money
