Resetting an Aprilia to accept a new set of clocks
My poor Aprilia Pegaso is now suffering from post trip blues.
2 Months ago the dash let in water and shorted out. I limped the 100 miles home guessing my speed as I went. After that the ignition would fire, the clock go fizz and stop. So I bought a 2nd hand dash. That worked. I then went through the sequence to have it remember my keys (stops it displaying SERVICE on the dash). 2 days later it forgot the keys. This happened a couple of times and then finally it just sat there asking for Insert the I Key. I concluded the 2nd hand dash was faulty and bought a new one. The new one arrived today, I fitted it in expectation, turned the key and it displayed Insert the I Key Bum I plugged in my old dash, and in between "fzzzt" it lets the bike fire. I am now after ideas of how or what I can kick to reset it and allow the bike to run. TIA |

I feel a bit silly. It appears it was all to do with how quick you removed the key and placed the next one in. It had to be fast, not count down. Seems to be about 5 seconds. Doh! |
