What bike is it and what is the problem? You would be better off with a manufacturer specific diagnostic tool.

Hello Doc,

i have a AJP PR5 250 (Engine of Honda XR 250) with a Delphi fuel injection system. Next year i want to travel in Africa, so i want cut off the Katalysator from the exhaust .
After them i must make a new "setup" for the Fuel injection.

Sorry for my bad English

Regards

Markus

Hi!

Do you really need to worry about this? For sure the fuel there will ruin the cat but will it matter or make any difference to how your engine runs if the cat is ruined? A lot of people who take catalysed bikes to Africa say the fuel does not matter.

It might be worth paying a specialist to set it up if you want to remove before you go....?

Good luck!

Hello Doc,

my friend say it will be better to drive without the Katalysator. Are you sure that i have no problems with the damage Katalysator. The last years i only drive Bikes without a Katalysator. This is the first bike with a Katalysator.

Regards

Markus

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
