I asked the same thing a while back here.

Slow response. I don't think Jawa is a household name in the RTW-MC community :-)

BTW: In Europe, Jawa is primarily known for making somewhat sturdy, easy-to-maintain two-stroke powered bikes. After new emissions laws were passed in the EU, they had to enter the four-stroke frenzy. Hence the Rotax powered bikes.

The styling of the new JAWA's may not be to nice but JAWA has a reputation of building reliable bikes. The are not showbikes but workhorses.

the price of jawa 650 dakar is almost same with a bmw f650 or honda xl650.
might be hard to find parts and services out of europa.
i have written a mail to them to be my sponsor for a rtw trip so that they can also proof that the bike is reliable. but did not responce

I have old engine Jawa 350cm 2T in my CZ 350

looks like the same engine as bmw f650, the rotax lump.

the main problem would be getting parts. with mainstream bikes the parts can be oredered and be with you quite quickly, with niche bikes you could wait months for a part. not much good if you're stranded away from home.
