Increased cooling

I had some problems in the desert in Turkmenistan with my bike overheating - and would like to get it tooled up for a trip down to the Moroccan Sahara if I have time and money left before I go back to work in late August - going to be seriously hot.

It is an oil and air cooled engine (Cagiva Elefant) - are there any good mods to increase the cooling rate, other than switching from 10W 40 to 15w 50 oil. - I was thinkinmg about bodging a larger radiator onto it as the one it has is quite small when compared to other bikes.....

maybe a small fairing or duct to channel more air over it??

my radiator is right at the front, I have an Acerbis rally-type mudguard with a hollow back (or rather I did until a merc pulled out on me in Kazakhstan), so air comes right through no worries, don't know if I could increase the airflow at all. Might have a look at some sort of Radiator 'RAM-air' affair when I get back to the UK.

Ps

also need to fit a temp warning light and possibly a cooling fan before I go to any more deserts (am contemplating Morocco in July-August - so will be seriously hot). Does anyone know an aftermarket supplier for these things for Cagivas/Ducatis?

Would an intercooler 'spray' style system with a relay trigerred by a warning light work, or crack my radiator from the heat difference (am aware that as a bike the reservoir would be pretty small but I have a bit of spare space under my fuel tank)??
