CCM 404ds OVERLAND

hi, i am looking everywhere for 2 large tanks to fit to our ccm 404s. I am a motorbike mechanic at Shrewsbury so some adjustment to lugs/fixing points etc. is no problem.
Not really finding anyone who has done it. Ive found out what panels the bike uses (a mix of yz125 and crf450 rad scoops) so maybe a crf tank. If anyone knows any good companies producing one off plastic tanks perhaps i could send them a tank - i have some that leak!!!
Any help appreciated, Thanks.

Chris of Motocross Africa is somewhere in southern Africa at the moment on a 404DS (Welcome to Moto-cross Africa - been a while since you updated the site Chris!) and was asking similar questions about larger tanks about a year ago when he was prepping his bike. I don't think he ever found anything and left with a couple of bolt on auxillary tanks. I'd suggest having a look at his site and checking his posts here for a start.

I would have thought that DRZ400 tanks would be a good starting point though, especially if you can make up new mounts

Thanks for posting. I have looked at his site and he has a 5 litre tank on the front mudguard. I was preferably looking for more capacity but he seems to have done o.k. with it!!

If you do run out of capacity and need to carry more juice you can always do what I did and make your own on the road, just get some duck tape and empty drinks bottles - fill bottles with the highest octane crap you can find then duck tape them to a spare bit of bike, job's a good'un!
