Battery Question

Folks

Since i have been abroad, I left my harley alone for more than a year. Is it safe to try and recharge the battery now? It is a sealed battery.

I am concerned that it will explode

thanks

I can see no reason why, and would be very suprised if it exploded.

(if it does, post a picture of the burning wreck:oops2:)

I would put the battery on a trickle charger / battery tender overnight.

Mine (optimate) lets me know if the battery is Fcuked.

I have left bikes for a year and it's been OK and for a few months and the battery been knackered.

Good luck

Might as well charge it - nothing to loose after 1 year

Basically I agree with the last post: stand well back!! (just kidding!).

Definitely use a trickle charger that is suitable for the small capacity batteries that are on bikes: the average car battery charger is quite able to knacker a bike battery.
