IM not sure whats going on, Its timed right, has spark to the points and spark plug, new gas, plug and this bike wont start?? :confused1: One of the things it says in the manuel says, If engine fails to start, engine crankcase flooded with gas due to over chocking or failure to turn the gas off. Will this stop the bike from starting at all?? or if the clutch is slipping, could this cause a starting problem?? Carb is clean, and when it did start, there was no tappet noise. could someone help a bro out please?? Im tring to fix this bike for a bro, and my :stormy: "first kick every time ironhead is feeling left out" :stormy: thanks for any words of advice ironhead myke

You didn't say what make of bike but I'm assuming it's an Aerrmachi/Harley Davidson ,about which I know very little other than the fact that it's a 350 4 stroke .
If you are sure that the spark is timed right and not 360 degrees out [easy to do on some bikes ],then all you need is gas to make it go .
If it's flooding then when you take out the spark plug it will be wet and stink of gas.
But if gas is not getting through , check for blocked petcock , blocked filter and sticking float valve in the carb .
If all seems ok and you have compression then squirt about a teaspoonful of gas into the combustion chamber via the plug hole and try to start the bike immediately ,some engines respond to this after being stood for a long time .
Some spark plugs can seem ok when you test them in the open air but will fail under compression ,this has caught me out a few times .

Yes Its Italian, I Dont Know If It Has A Weak Spark, Looks Blue, And When I Clutch It In My Hand, And Kick Her Over, I Get A Pretty Good Jolt, I Guess It Should Work Huh? If I Leave The Gas On On This Bike, Will It Flood The Crankcase? Or Will Tapets Cause It Not To Start At All? Thanks For The Words Of Wisdom, I Always See It As Good Spark, Gas To The Motor , And Compression, Yo Should Hace A Runnin Bike, Done Dozins Of Scoots, This On Just Givin Me Heck. D@*^&m Carb Is Pointin Down Tword The Head??

Have you tried to sart it with the exhaust off . I know its more of a problem with 2 strokes but some times 4 strokes get bunged up to.
Just a thought

OK if you have a good spark ,correct timing, compression and carb is OK ,then I would look for a stuck valve or a partially stuck valve .
