Waiting for parts in Volgograd
1 week ago, we arrived to Volgograd with a broken drive shaft. We went to the local BMW (car) dealer who told us it would take 2 weeks to get the part in.
We thought we could do better, so ordered the part from BMW UK and had them shipped by DHL - told 2 to 4 working days. It now eventuates that customs in Moscow will hold the shipment for 3 days (they have a legal right to hold it for up to 28 days) and DHL is closed on weekends. So, it now looks like we will be waiting for 1 1/2 weeks. Next time, we would seriously consider flying back to the UK or Germany to collect the part in person. By the way, Volgograd is interesting for about 2 days maximum! Ken www.kenandtoni.com |
