VR in Russia?

Hi all,

I am having problems with my gs650.
Right now I am in Maykop, near Krasnodar and the bike is not working.

I am not sure yet but I think I will need a Voltage Regulator, (the battery was at 18 someting).

What's thew best way to get one?
Will motorworks work here?
Can I get one in Russia?

Thanks

Cheers

Motorworks do send things to Russia.
However sending anything into Russia can take a lot of time as it can be held by Customs for periods until they inspect and consider the package. Not always though.

There are BMW Motorrad dealers around Russia. IF they hold one it would probably get to you quicker using internal DHL. I dont know the nearest to you but will find out.

I will also find out if the Moscow Motorrad dealers carry this part. It will take me a couple of hours as I am tied up at the moment.

Here is a list of Motorrad dealers in Russia with phone numbers, Email etc.
Мотоциклы BMW в России

The nearest to you is Rostov-on-Dom about 300km from you.

The Voltage Regulator and Part Number for most (if not all) F650GS is :- Регулятор напряжения 6131 234 6550

If Rostov cannot help, I have checked with my local dealer in Moscow who I have used several times before.
They have only one in stock and have reserved it in my name until this time tomorrow.
The price is 3,142Руб. About 80Euro
DHL it from Moscow to Maikop would probably be about 60Euro.
Then there is the !

If you want the one reserved please PM me and I will give my phone number so we can get you on the road again.

have you found any local bikers there? They could probably wire any bike's regulator to replace your original one. I am no bike electrician, but I would think any bike regulator capable of handling at least 400 watts would do the job. A Japanese sportsbike regulator should work. loads of those in russia
