Turkmen transit visa in 5 days in Uzbekistan ?
Hello,
Does anyone obtained recently a Transit visa for Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan ? (without LOI). If yes, how long did it take ? We already have the Iran visa, but it will only be valid for an entry before the 16th of June (the embassy didn t read well our form), and we won t be in Uzbekistan before the 4th of June... so we won t be able to wait very long for the transit visa. Thanks Severin ps. for a plan B, did anyone got a russian transit visa from Uzbekistan (Or from kazakstan). What was required ?

I got a Turkmen transit visa in Iran to go through to Uzbekistan. I submitted the application in Tehran and they told me to return in 7 or 8 days i think to pick it up.
You should contact David Berghof of stantours.com for help and advice with visas. He lived in Turkmenistan for a number of years, and is now based in Kazakstan. He knows the score better than anyone and is efficient also. Sean |

Hi
I don't have any experiences about the embassy in Tashkent, but I've been at the embassies in Ankara and Teheran. The embassy needs approval from Ashgabat before they can issue the visa, that is way it takes so long time (up to 10 working days). During the processing time you will keep your passport (leaving only a copy of the first page and a copy of your visa for the country of destination after Turkmenistan), and then the issue the visa rather fast (on the spot, or maybe one day). If you call them and ask (Russian or Turkish is the best bet) it might be possible to fax them your passport (the first page and Iran visa) in advance. I don't know if the embassy in Tashkent accept it, but it's worth I try. The worse case scenario is that they'll ask for a letter of introduction from your embassy. Maybe something to prepare in advance if you are worried. Good luck! Don't let the ladies at the Turkmen border fool you on the excxhange rate. |

Hi, I picked up a transit visa from the embassy in Tashkent, I seem to remember it took 2 days and was quite expensive at $46.
Cheers Fish. |

When you picked up the 5 day transit visa, did you have to specify the exact dates of entry and exit? We've heard mixed reports.
If non-exact dates, we'll get it before we go. If exact, then we'll have to pick it up on the road in Tehran or Istanbul. Cheers, Mike |
