Hi Friends,

does anyone have a suggestion who to contact to get the bike by boat from Japan to Alaska or Canada? I guess it would be Anchorage in Alaska and Vancouver in Canada as possible ports. Anyone did it recently?

Direct route to Alaska,, via only ocean containers,, as a household.

is a huge freight forwarder, with offices in every corner and nook, of this world.
Have them do a packing as a house hold item (Need to clean the bike,, disconnect the battery,, leave 1/3 of the fuel in the tank for both air and sea) Grab a bike pallet, from motorcycle dealer, for a song and dance. You save hundreds of dollars. This way , you can drop off the bike near a Tokyo warehouse. (Call local bike dealers,, tell them your circumstances,, they usually give you the pallet free.) Shipping cost USD 1,200 or so.

Or do a ro-ro from Yokohama to Tacoma by either Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics - worldwide ocean transport, inland services, supply chain solutions, terminal services or NYK line NYK Line RoRo
Catch a ride with all the Huyndais,, Kias ,, Toyotas,, Nissans ,
You simply ride up the boat, in Japan,, collect at the Tacoma and ride up to Alaska. Freight is cheaper as well,, ca USD 800 for the bike plus 2-300 both end ancialliary charges.

Then there is always an air cargo ,, you name it,, dozen airlines go to Anchorage. Expect USD 2,500 for the freight. In the end,, the cost will be same,, sea or air method. You show up at the Narita air cargo terminal ,, have a trucker bring the pallet. Using this pallet,, you save in weight and measure for the freight. Unpacking charges as you simply ride and ride off the pallet. Easy to dispose of because its metal,, all the scrappers wants a good hunk of aluminium for free.

Same applies to shipping from Korea to USA.
