Just ship it to South Korea, then get the Dong Chun Ferry to Vladivostok then ride round.

The land route is iffy in that you can ship to Aus then Aus to Indonesia but then Malaysia and Singapore need carnets.

yep i had noticed that you cant seem to ship to thailand so this would make the SE asia part inposable with out the carnet. so the only way i can go is to russia via korea then??
has any one found a flight form NZ to bangkok?

Carnet is pretty straightforward. Just go the insurance route and it's 10% of the value, then you get 50% back when you return.

I flew my bike from Brisbane to Thailand, then 6 months later flew it from Cambodia (Phnom Penh) to Korea. I arranged all this my self. I can tell you how to do it in Cambodia. For Korea (I was on a tight schedule) I got Wendy to arrange entry into country and she transported it across the country. Where I took the boat to Zarabino (Russia) I wanted to ride around Korea - but with all the hassles on arranging a truck to transport the bike out of the airport and the fast approaching Russia summer I could - sorry Korea maybe next time!

Arranging you own flight for bikes is quiet easy, you just have to be very patient! and sometimes you need to put your foot down or even lie... but you take it as it comes... if you need further details let me know and I will post it.

Its a great ride! I loved every moment.
