Hi just been told its now possible to cross over from Russia into Georgia without having to take the ferry is this true? would certainly make life alot easier if it is

Yes, that's correct. We rode from Georgia into Russia in June and also met another biker who crossed Russia/Georgia. There have been many posts on other thread here regarding it.

I've done it thre days ago! The best, go to the Russin boarder in the morning becose they let you wait. Georgian boarder katzbegi is done in 15 minutes. A wonderful raid.
