Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events such as this one (18 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or
to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and

I'm planning a trip with a few friends to ride around the Caspian (north to south or Russia/Kazakhstan to Iran) from the UK.
My main question is what is the earliest you could depart from the UK or the latest? If we left in mid-April will the snows have cleared by the time we turn up? Say it takes us two or three weeks to get to Kazakhstan?
Or say we left in early September would that be a problem? We are at the point about deciding when and then we can do rest of the plan.
I know weather is variable but some rough timings from the collective experience here would be appreciated.
