Urgent mail delivery question into Russia

I'd like to send small packages by post(one oil seals and one fork gaiters) to a friend in Russia, where i will pick it up later. My question is, is it a good way to send it straight on his name to Russia or it would be better to send it to the Poste Restante in Omsk. And if so, does anyone has an address for Poste Restante in Omsk?
Thanks!

Cheers, Bossit. :-)

I always send spare parts to my friend in Vladivostok before going to russia. He never has a problem, gets it fast, & pays no customs duties.
this is from the US, Im sure Belgium will be the same.

Just put a low value & check 'gift' on the customs form.
Also, I take the parts out of the package & send as 'used parts'

There is a Poste Restante sytem in RUS.
In fact they prefer it as generally we collect our mail from the local Post Office anyway. In truth I think they don't like the effort of delivering to addresses!

I will get more details for you when 'she' gets home but Doug's experience and advice matches my own.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
