Motorbike rental in Tajikistan?

Hi chaps
Does anyone know if it's possible to hire a bike (anything really...) in Tajikistan? My boy and I want to spend a month noodling about there this summer, by bike. I have a contact in Dushanbe, but he says he doesn't know of any bike hire places... I don't mind if it's a Minsk, a Ural, a dirt bike, a Honda cub... I just want to ride a motorbike in Tajikistan!!
Any help hugely appreciated.
Thanks
Ants

No there is no bike hire in Tajikistan, i am getting to know this country as i am just back from there and back out again shortly

There are old Russian bikes knocking about and mopeds in Duhsanbe you could probably buy but this is hit and miss.

Best bet is to fly to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan (you need no visa) and get your Tajik visa there which takes 24 hours then head down to Osh (South of Bishkek) and rent a XT from www.muztoo.com and then head to Tajikistan and after back up to Osh to give the bike back

By the way i have no connection with this company just if i was going to do what you want to do this is the easier way.

I am getting to know Central Asia well as i have been traveling there a lot recently and have good friends in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan & Tajikistan

Thanks

Thanks guys - this is super helpful and really kind of both of you. Thanks. Wesley - your trip looks amazing - had a look at your ride report on ADV Rider and am grinding my teeth with envy. I LOVE Georgia - such wonderful people (and wine...) - and Chechnya - wow, what a trip.
I'll try both these leads and see what happens - although on first look those bikes in Kryg look very pricey.
Thanks again - will let you know what happens.
Happy Trails

Hi i never looked at the prices, another option is that Sambour (who also rents bikes) takes bikes to Bishkek and now Georgia so maybe contact him if you want to get your bike out there and ride that around.

I also met Memo in Bishkek and his XR's looked great so maybe email him about prices

Thanks for liking the blog its currently ongoing, when i get to the Kyrgyzstan & Tajikistan part then maybe you will find the information handy for your travels to these areas.

Having visited 50+ countrys in my life Kyrgyzstan & Tajikistan are my favorite(so far!)

Second all that has been said. Muztoo, Sambor, and Memo are good options, short of spending the time buying and prepping a local bike. Have met all three and wouldn't have hesitations doing business with them.
