Kyrgyzstan Visas
Can this visa be picked up at Kazakh border and if so, how long are transit visas versus standard tourist visa?
I'll be coming from Uzbek(shymkent) and heading to Almaty...

I know you can get a visa issued in Turkmenistan pretty easily, so I would imagine you can get one at Tashkent or maybe in Almaty (check with David at Stantours.com).
I wouldn't want to try getting one at the border, other central asian countries are a big problem if you turn up with even slightly incorrect paperwork (based on experience.....)

You can not get the visa at the border. You can get one at the airport if you fly in. They are easy to get at any embassy and once in Kyrgyzstan, they are pretty easy to extend. I have lived in Bishkek now for over a year. If you need any more info let me know.

I can't believe it myself but i got real lucky and picked up the Kyrg tourist visa for $55 in less than 10 minutes in Tashkent...FYI...
