The Sunny Side of the Lake
I agree with Nicoletti. We preferred the south side, the north side is much more developed though if chubby, sunburnt Musocvites frolicking in their Speedos is your idea of good scenery then head that way.
Otherwise, go south. We found a couple of places that were nice to just camp out on the sandy beaches
, swimming in the lake each day, camp fires in the evening and we didn't see anybody else - my idea of bliss.
I'd also say ditto to the suggestion about Song Kul and its beautiful lake, chilly at 3000 metres with a refreshing feel if you dare to have a morning swim
