Kazakstan - Russian Border Crossing at Leninogorsk/Ridder?
I am planning to enter Kazakstan via the "E40" road from Karagai in Russia (Altai Region) which ends up in Leninogorsk (Ridder). Some have advised that this is in fact a dead-end and that there is no border crossing. My Russian Road atlas (2004 ed.) shows a border crossing - has anyone been here and crossed the Russian/Kazakh border?
ANy help much appreciated. Regards, Adrian |

David from Stantours sent me this email yesterday as am planning a similar corssoing next year.
"Do think of us for the Russian visa as well, Let's hope that new Altay border crossing for you opens up (Ust Kan to Ridder ./ Leninogorsk)." David mentioned this possibility to me about 3 months ago, you might want to contact him for the lastest. Do a web search on stantours or emial me for his address. he is very biker friendly Cheers |
