How budget is budget? You can probably pay as little as $0.50 (1.5 Com) for a room somewhere in Bishkek, but you will be sharing the place with several people and maybe animals?

On the other end of the spectrum, there's the Hyatt, which will cost close to $180 a night I think.

The hotel right across from the Hyatt is nice and maybe $60 US (about 2100 Com). I will try to find the name and some contact info. Again, how budget is budget? Do you want it cheaper than that?

thanks for your reply
budget = budget I hear prices of 10-20 usd for a double. Doesn't matter if the walls need a bit of paint, i won't see it as i sleep with eyes closed ;-)

after some debate we decided to take mountainbikes and no motorcycle. I had too many s and really need a workout ;-) So if you see 2 heavily packed pushbikers, it's us!

cheers.

Avoid LP CA guides advice for the Int Bus School. It's horrid & gross w/ mean old babuskas always demanding money.

Nomad's Home is best, search for it on lonely planet thorntree. 300 somani for a clean shared room. 500 ea for a private double. Cold brews & mineral water available at the home.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
