i am looking for tyres in eastern kaz, russia or mongolia??

Hello All,
we are approaching the eastern end of our trip from Capetown to Magadan and looking to setup 2 new sets of tyres for the leg from Mongolia to Magadan.

We are riding ktm 950's, tyre size is 140/80/18 rear and 90/90/21 front.

We have used pirelli scorpion rallye pro (and mt21), dunlop rally raid, and michelin deserts, any of these would be ok, but preference is in the order listed, (or anything similar in a different brand is ok too).

I have the contact details for motorezina.ru which i will try now, but if anyone can suggest another suplier anywhere near almaty, in mongolia or in the part of russia we will traverse it would be much apreciated.

thanks Dean.

To clarify what might not be clear within the threads, Dennis Panferov (also known as Dean) supplies motor cycle tyres AND has a distribution network with a series of associates throughout Russia from whom collection can be arranged.

You can contact him at either Email below. His English is superb.

To DEAN74

Completely off topic and unrelated to tyres or other petroleum derivatives.

I love the travel log.
Started reading and it's made me laugh and given me itchy feet, not that the latter led to the former IYKWIM!

Enjoy the rest of the trip.

Little bit related to this we were some weeks ago in Barnaul and did bike service (oil change, tyre change) in one bike shop. I belive shop owner was Viktor (or something similar) I try to dig his contact information but you can also find his information from Barnaul biker club which is a biker restaurant in Barnaul city.

Shop is located in outskirt of city in a parking hall carage but he has some tyres, oils&fuilds and other bike spare parts and knowledge of western bikes. Service fees were reasonable.

i am sure it would be able to arrange so that he gets tyres what you need for his shop beforehand and you get them changed there along with oils&other small maintenance. Viktor dont speak much english but his wife who also works in shop speaks good english.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
