GPS mapping in Kyrgyzstan?

Does Garmin (or any other company) have decent road maps of Kyrgyzstan and maybe even Kazakhstan? Thanks!

Hey man, check out www.smellybiker.com/maps/ you can find a good replacement for Garmin’s world map. Its called Wanderlust and there are tons of great reviews for it here in the GPS forums. Garmin’s World map does cover Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, another guy here uses World Map and it works for him. Wanderlust has about the same but you get a life time of updates with the membership.

I am only using it on a trial basis and have not paid for the membership yet but you would think I was selling it eh?

Lubbz

Oh yeah, this is off the GPS queston but there is a place in Bishkek where you can get Russian military maps. Its on TokTogol across from the Caravan store.

Well, the eval version had a big blank spot right over Kyrgyzstan, so I went ahead and paid for the real version, downloading now...we'll see how it goes.

LOL, yeah, well... There is just not a lot there. The roads are covered very well but not for the citys. They have no coverage for Bishkek at all. Other than that most main roads are covered.
