Vehicle into Mongolia

I am planning an overland trip to Mongolia next summer 2008 with an old school bus UK registered. Does anyone know anything about large import taxes on teh Russia-Mongolian border.
Also is it possible to sell/leave the vehicle in Mongolia again without paying hefty sums of money in import duty.
Any info very welcome.
Thanks.
Barney.

Vehicle

Currently, no problem with duties or import fees as when you cross the Russia/Mongolia border they write the details in a very big book that looks impossible to cross reference to anything or certainly any other border. Therefore they have no idea that a vehicle came into the country and didn't leave. It is becoming more computerized every year though, but as of this summer, not a problem.

Did it about 5 weeks ago and was no problem
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...nd-rover-28736

The border official did key the registration/V5 details into the same computer as used for passport details, which had me a little worried as conflicted with previous posts saying they only record it in a big book, but was probably just an excel spreadsheet and no internet connection!

There is a cluster of car dealers in the east of UB, and they were all fine with buying it and made reasonable offers. Take the eastbound road from the NE corner of the outer ring road about 6km.

Another suggestion i got from a local (guide) was, if 4wd, sell it in remote parts of Mongolia where registration plates aren't important. He offerred to buy it from me and give to his cousins if didn't sell it, so must be some truth to that. Happy motoring
