From Volgograd to Novosibirsk

Hey everybody,

I wanted to ask for some ideas, advices or propositions about a part of my 2013-trip :-)

I'm planning a trip next year from Belgium to Mongolia and back.
To work more easy, I've devided my trip in some parts:
1. Belgium through Europe till Montenegro and Albania
2. Albania to Georgia
3. Georgia to Mongolia
4. Mongolia
5. Back home over Russia

And it's with this thirth part that I have some troubles. I will go from Georgia first to Volgograd (and stay there some days) and than I want to find a good or interesting way to reach Novosibirsk (from N'birsk till Mongolian border is a very great way through the Atlay Mountains, so there is no problem).

Does anyone has some advices or propositions how I can make those 4.000km between V'grad and N'birsk more interesting because (as far as my information gets) this is not such an attractive road, not much to see.
I also thought about taking a train to "overbridge" those kilometers but I cant find any good info about getting the bike on a russian train. Can someone help me with this ?

thanks a lot and cheers, Erik

What is interesting for you?

What kind of riding do you like to do?

If you like off road trails I know very interesting trails all the way from Volgograd to mongolian border.

Hey mates :-)
Sure...even that I'm not that off-road specialist, I would be very interested to have some information about the trails you're talking about :-)
Thanks already !

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
