Emigration to Moscow - take the bikes

I will be living in Moscow for the next two / three years and would like to take my bikes with me. My question is, should I get them registered in Russia, get Russian plates, or is it doable if not slightly unallowed to keep them on their Dutch registration, and just arrange insurance for them? This last I would prefer as getting them re-imported in Holland is a bit of a hassle later on.
Anybody an idea on how to get a cheap insurance in Russia for a foreigh registered bike?

Thanks in advance,
Auke

I have no idea how easy or complicated it would be to register a foreign bike as you are a foreigner too and get russian plates. Insurance shouldn't be a problem.

But one thing I just want to remind you and everybody lurking here: I overrun the temporary import duration a few months, and after that a "criminal procedure" has been initiated against me :-). On both the customs i entered russia and on the one i left, i received about 20 letters or so. Was quite annoying to solve that problem! And I think it might have ended up with a restriction on entering russia, or at least with a penalty.

In the end it was mainly a problem between the two customs, because they didn't pass on the information that i already left russia. Just to remind you, that if you want to stay there for a while, you should do it legally if possible :-)
